Not a bad set of announcements, huh?
Comments 156
That came from nowhere. I wonder why they didn't do a stream. Oh well, that's my next 29 minutes sorted.
I first thought it was an announcement. I feel confused now...but I love it.
RKO out of nowhere.
Time to watch right now! Ty for letting us know!
I CALLED IT GUYS!!!
wait... xenoblade new epilogue? holy...
Also, relieved by the original cover art
O snap, Nintendo is genius, a Direct Mini....omg how are yall so amazing.
Gah, loads I want. BURNOUT!!!! AT LAST!!!
Announcer: ...And the Nintendo fans go NUTS!
Xenoblade, bioshock, borderlands, burnout!!!
Never played bioshock, so this was a pretty good little direct for the time being
The rythm game and free run mode update for Fing Fit Adventure are awesome.
Also, that's a lot of love from 2K with Borderlands, Bioshock and XCom
Aaamd it sucked. Nothing new. Just port after port.
@WebHead Cry me a river
Was not expecting demos of a few games, as well at the epilogue for XBC1. Also that it really is the 5/29 release date.
Well that rumour was spot on with last weeks and this announcement...
Not bad things shown, but also nothing big new. No Metroid, no Bayonetta, no Zelda, no Mario, no Pikmin... So we'll have to wait till the "E3 Direct" for the next new big Nintendo Games.
Sorry but Download required = no money from me.
We waited this long... and the direct was terrible.
bioshock and borderlands are both coming to switch and i can't wait.
@mikegamer so im not jumping for joy over a tame direct. I understand things happened outside nintendos control but come they can do better.
I'm done getting excited for directs.
It was a pretty fun little video, aside from the Bravely Default snoozefest in the middle and the lowest of lows to cap it off at the end. No big new announcements but there's more than enough to look forward to.
How many things dropping TODAY well played Nintendo! Some interesting stuff Ninjala looks cute and at free to play it’s a ‘why not’ from me. Bioshock and Borderlands are two I missed first spin round so will pick them up, Panzer Dragoon swooping in today too...
Nice little direct mini, and their little announcement at the beginning gave me a lump in my throat, let’s remember the current climate and the stress they must be working in/through. They owe us NOTHING people.. but they delivered anyway ❤️
May 29th... my bank account is going to hate me.
BIOSHOCK. Yesss.
Didn't expect my favorite burnout game to be remastered on Nintendo Switch! That was a really nice surprise.
Beside that..... good games, but it definitely felt like a MINI direct
WORTH THE WAIT
Great Direct, Panzer Dragoon and Bravely Default demo downloading right now 😁
It was a Mini direct. Why are people mad there was no Mario, Zelda or Metroid? Those games don’t get announced in Mini directs. I think there was a lot of great stuff shown. Some cool ports, some fun looking new games and done nice expansions. Can’t wait to get home and try a few of the new demos.
I want that workplace game, pretty bad. Panzer is a must, as is Jedi. Dang. Plus demos. Today got expensive and busy outta nowhere
@Supadav03 Sure, but maybe becuase we didn't expect a Mini Direct after more than half a year.
@BenAV well although the direct mini was really great, the didn't reveal a completly new (first party) game
so if they would have called it a normal direct and streamed it i guess many people would be salty
Everyone: WHERE IS MY DIRECT???
Everyone half an hour later: THAT WAS BAD, WHEN IS THE NEXT DIRECT??
This was basically the roadmap through June (which as we all know was supposed to be E3). This pretty much confirms they'll do a bigger, proper Direct around that time to announce the big holiday games.
They are bringing back pod racing!
So many ports, so many games to be hilariously overpriced.
@mariomaster96 Yeah, probably smart considering how people like to whinge about any little thing at any given opportunity. I'd prefer they just called it a 'mini' and streamed it anyway but thankfully I was able to watch it before seeing any spoilers so no harm done.
Xenoblade Chronicles on 29th of May was all I needed to hear. The game looks amazing!
A lot of other exciting news in this Direct as well!* And have anyone complained about them ending it with Pokémon S&S news yet?** 😆
*Bravely Default II, 2K games, Panzer Dragoon, Catherine, etc.
**Or there being "only ports"?
Burnout Paradise remastered & Episode 1 Podracer, great news! Bioshock Collection is a must. 'Good Job!' looks good, going to purchase that and Panzer Dragoon today. One negative from this mini is way too much time spent on those 2 JRPG's that i have zero interest in; Bravely Xenoblade Defaults or whatever... are they not both re-masters.
@Voldemort807 um you realize that corona is delaying development of everything right? These are clearly the titles they have in the chamber and are far enough along that they can finish and announce them without too much interference. Animal Crossing is definitely the biggest first party title this year, any other AAA titles would be a massive surprise. They've obviously had red flags up on this virus situation since the early phases and that's pretty obvious.
Awesome!!! About time we got some good news is this depressing world.
I don’t know why people are whining that something huge wasn’t announced in a Direct that is three months away from when the E3 Direct will occur. That’s when the huge announcements will take place.
Panzer Dragoon alone made this Direct for me.
THIS is all I was hoping for! A huge artbook for the Xenoblade definitive edition! Gimme them pre-orders!
Panzer Dragoon dropping today is a nice surprise! I've always wanted to try it out and I'll probably get this!
Nice to hear that Star Wars Racer will also be making a comeback! I loved that game on PC back in the day!
@TheNewButler @Reaast There is a difference between being upset we got a Mini Direct and being upset that the Mini Direct didn’t include Nintendo’s biggest franchises. My comment was towards the later. Both you seem to be addressing a different point, which is the former. I didn’t comment on that at all.
I like ports, so I'm happy. I don't have a PS4 or Xbox, so that's how I play my games.
And Nintendo is setting records with AC New Horizons, so they aren't hurting in the first party arena.
People will complain about anything.
Only Bioshock....
My take aways.
New smash character from Arms - that is cool
Borderlands coming - awesome game. bought it to play on my roommates xbox back in the day
Ninjala is free to play -Nice! I wasn't even going to give this game a chance at first. looked like it was trying too hard to be like splatoon, plus big hammer mean I play. Smart move here.
Star Wars episode 1 Pod Racer is coming -YES! One of those classic that I played to death. I can't wait!
Oh man, this was great for me. I only thought about Burnout Paradise coming to Switch the other day and now it's happening. Handheld Burnout Paradise? Count me in!
Borderlands and Bioshock games on my Switch as well. Loads of RPGs, Panzer Dragoon and Jedi Academy hitting the store now and more.
Planning on getting Panzer Dragoon Remake to scratch my Rez itch.
Episode I Racer !!!
Exactly what I wanted. It’s a new lap record! 🥳
Oh yeah, CLUBHOUSE GAMES IS BACK BABY!
If Nintendo can revive that, anything is possible.
Decent enough Mini Direct. Enough to hold me over for a while longer.
They held back all the big news for after the Corona crisis. No announcements from Nintendo apart from the 51 board games game. Makes sense I’d say!
If all this was in the mini Direct then what they have left for the full fat version will be incredible. Other than a couple of bits of DLC there was nothing first-party in here so there is clearly going to be loads going on in the "E3" Direct.
I'm happy with the ports for now in anticipation of some big hitters at the end of the year.
I'm really anxious to see some gameplay for Shin Megami Tensei V. They're being so secretive with the game. I'd like to see more of No More Heroes too!
I was surprised by the Xenoblade Chronicles epilogue announcement, although between the original Wii version and the 3DS remake, I don't think I have it in me to play through the game a third time.
Xenoblades release date is nice. And the Bravely Default II demo is good to have. Wasn't sure if I was going to get it but I can always try the demo.
Seriously, more games need demos.
New Clubhouse Classics?!! (Or 42 All-Time Classics as it was in the uk) hell yeah. I used to play the heck out of that. Still don't fully understand how to play Koi-Koi but I love it all the same
Pretty excited to hear that an ARMS character is finally coming to Smash Bros.!
For a mini direct, it was very, very worthy. Some trolls even come try do make it look less then was, so disturbed they feel. E3 will be really good if the mini was this level.
Back to quarantine and playing Doom.
Thanks for the update, Nintendo. At least we all know we won’t get any big news until June.
Awesome Nintendo Direct Mini!
Damn, that was pretty mediocre. It was only called a Direct Mini because of the lack of games, you can't tell me otherwise.
I am very excited for Bravely Default 2. That has my name written all over it. I can't believe Nintendo just shadow dropped a mini-Direct.
I can't help but wonder if we see more 1st party stuff announced in the coming weeks. That was a great little Direct but it was all 3rd party stuff really.
Kinda surprised there wasn't any announcement, not even DLC, for FE's 30th anniversary, but I can live with the Bravely II and Xenoblade news, especially in these trying times. Jedi Academy will be a PS4 move though.
Nice surprise. Some good stuff for the time being. Though I'm sure the current world situation has forced Nintendo to rearrange or put alot on hold.
Bioshock
Borderlands
Xcom
Burnout paradise
Catherine: Full body
Ring Fit Adventure
Star Wars episode 1 racer
Jedi Academy
Vigor?
SR 4
....
Well [removed] me and my wallet.
So what we knew up to may has bin confirmed. Hmm best part for me was bravely 2 ,xenoblade and that ninja game
This was pretty disappointing overall, a lot of old games and DLC. Now we probably have to wait 6 months for another direct or any news on games WE actually want. I’m starting to hate how Nintendo doesn’t give news or updates on games and keeps secrets for everything. At least Sony and Xbox give news a lot more year round.. seriously, a lot of us probably have nothing to play at the moment on switch.
Nothing besides animal crossing for the first three months of the year and this is what’s in store for us? Lmao . Sony has re3 remake, nioh 2, last of us 2, doom eternal, ghost of tshima, and final fantasy 7 remake all coming soon or already out. Nintendo says here’s some ports and indie games enjoy!
Its finally here!
Port-heavy direct for sure, but that should have been expected once the Direct was labeled as a Mini.
In that regard, it wasn't a bad Direct Mini at all.
I’ve played most of this games already, very sad showing on Nintendo’s part only highlight for me is Arms on smash !
Did somebody say...
EPISODE ONE PODRACER!
@Mgene15 One would expect something more out of Nintendo this year !! I’m so glad I own a PS4 pro aswell ! Nintendo is in for another crap year
Only thing disappointing to me is no release dates announced for Outer Worlds and Doom Eternal.
THE RING FIT UPDATE IS AWESOOOOME
Got done watching it a bit ago. Overall... the direct was pretty meh, but I'm honestly just grateful we got anything given the current circumstances and I'm glad to see Nintendo give that statement about the Virus and the flexible game schedule for the rest of the year. Yeah, I want new games to play but there's already so much out now and I want to be sure everyone, including the developers, are safe.
So yeah, the direct wasn't great, but I'm glad it seems like the higher ups at Nintendo are prioritizing the safety and schedule flexibility with their employees.
Plus... there's a lot to play right now. Animal Crossing, DOOM Eternal, Rescue Team DX, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, CoD Warzone, Half-Life Alyx, Nioh 2, Resident Evil 3, Gears Tactics... there's a lot of good stuff, plus I have my backlog to kill!
Yeah that was pretty dullsville. They can rest on the success of Animal Crossing for a while but the Direct Maxi's gotta have some bangers. BOTW2, something anything about Metroid and pllleeease F-Zero!
Disappointing. Unless they keep the Mini Directs coming...2020 is a barren wasteland...
Barely anything in there that I don't intend to get, game after game was just 'BUY, BUY, BUY'.
Just a shame about Ring Fit Adventure stock issues because I'd get that now as well.
And it was a bit of a bummer ending on Pokémon DLC, but at least it looked quite good.
Spring Man for Smash!
Seems people aren't realizing we are in the midst of a global pandemic that is cancelling/delaying pretty much anything. Getting a Direct of any kind is nice.
Nintendo isn't in a hurry about getting another first party title out because AC New Horizons is a massive success and tons of people are still playing Pokemon. Maybe not you or me, but they are.
And, for someone like me who only plays the Switch, I'm excited for games like Borderlands, Bioshock and others.
Pokemon at the end was the worst!!!! I know this is irrational, but the whole thing would have been better if they had put that somewhere else instead of sliding that in as “one more thing”
Ahhhh!
@Crockin I've been told by several people recently to play them. I guess I'll have to wait until Switch ones now
Oh, finally a Direct after i woke up at 10.20 pm just now. 😪😯
Only Ninjala caught my attention. 😀
Xenoblade looks fantastic and Bravely Default II? Was that really graphics achieved on Switch? Fantastic
Just finished Luigi's Mansion 3. Now playing Witcher 3. Then got Link's Awakening and Astral Chain. I've got plenty of games to keep me occupied.
Are you guys not going to post a news article for Good Job, a brand-new Nintendo-published co-op game about the boss' son, physically wrecking a company while doing menial tasks and failing upwards in your career? Easily the most exciting game of the bunch.
Jedi Academy just got released!! I just bought it!!
Now we're talking. And for an alleged mini, this was PACKED. Not only is XCDE launching in mere two months, but... Bioshock trilogy finally happening on the same day? AND a Borderlands collection that includes the first game for once? And then there's Catherine, Burnout Paradise, King's Bounty II... hot damn. A terrific lineup.
Now I'm expecting a huge E3
There goes my wallet. I serious want everything...
I'm actually kind of looking forward to picking up that collection of board games. Weird.
... Oh well, here's to waiting 3 months
Decent direct, considering the circumstances. Nice to see 2k and Atlus starting to fully get on board with the Switch. BD II looks nice. Panzer Dragoon looks to be a good remake. As long as Ninjala isn't pay-to-win, I think it'll be great.
Bit of a shame, that Namco and Capcom didn't bring any of their A tier titles. And Nintendo brought their B game with this direct (not surprising with how much Nintendo still relies on physical game sales). Was hoping to see something from Warner Bros., specifically the Midway part..
Overall alright direct.
So finally Nintendo drops its H1 Direct. Now we await to see what H2 has in store.
Pretty good direct! A ton of nice ports. Excited to get X-Com 2 - I played the first and loved it but never tried the sequel. Hopefully it is a decent port. I think there were a lot of performance issues on PC.
Xenoblade and Bravely Default 2 look beautiful and fun. Buuut I cannot tolerate the very cliched, corny stories and JRPG tropes. Honestly I feel like I could handle it better without the voice acting. I love classic JRPGs like FFVI but I'm sure if you added voice acting to that I would be rolling my eyes.
Nice to see Catherine. But where is Persona 5? I wonder if they have an exclusivity deal with Sony.
Metroid Prime trilogy where?
A little disappointed with the big news being more details about the Pokémon DLC, but the rest had me really excited, especially the Smash DLC teaser and the BioShock port reveal. All in all, a pleasant surprise!
I expected to see some ungrateful crybabies in here and wasn't disappointed. You wouldn't think there's a worldwide health crisis going on but hey. Games before health eh?
Burnout Paradise? Never played it, on the radar...Mr Driller? Japan only GC game, I loved the Dreamcast version. I actually like the look of that 51 games thing (my mum would love that for Othello alone), and Xenoblade (another game I haven't played) looks great too. Oh and a free trial of ARMS! I saw thousands of hours of gameplay in that Mini Direct. Not even counting that Ring Fit update that looks like a great laugh!
Not bad for a little drip feed!
This again shows why the Switch has got plenty in the tank!
It doesn’t need to be the most powerful and there are some great games coming here that will be amazing to take on the go!!
Yes an upgraded version will be needed eventually but I’m just going to carry on loving the brilliance of playing quality games wherever I go!
Neat little direct. The Pokemon update seems cool to me, might get into it! My new isolation game is Pokemon Shield... still disappointed in the poke ball animation... can't get it right. Smash Bros got it right. Sound and all.
Can we get a review for Good Job please? Looks great!
Xenoblade, Catherine & Braverley Default II I’m most excited for. But I knew about those already. I might try Bioshock.
I really liked the additions to ring fit. Especially the jogging mode!
@Ricube I've been wanting a jogging mode for awhile! I'm SO glad they added that. The new rhythm game looks fun too and has Nintendo music so that's cool. Other options are nice little bonuses.
sometimes you just want to run!
Not bad. Will definitely be getting Star Wars Jedi Academy and Panzer Dragoon Remake. Wondering if I'll get Good Job or the 51 game collection. Ready to wait for the E3 digital direct.
The Ninja game looks awesome! Looks a bit Splatoon 2! Can’t wait and it’s free
Star Wars episode 1 racer! I loved that game!!
@Tresszione as the perfect tonic!
Anyone notice that Good Job! game appears to be a Nintendo first party title? (And also therefore a new Nintendo IP)
Nintendo releasing a new Clubhouse Games to Switch shows that they are quite serious about resurrecting their handheld-exclusive casual-oriented franchises. The fact that this and Brain Age were released on Switch before a port/sequel of Wii Sports/Play/Fit/Party is telling.
I am now fully confident a new Tomodachi Life and Style Savvy game are either in development or have been for quite some time. The former in particular was a huge hit on the 3DS (6+ million copies sold) so a new entry on Switch could be a 10+ million seller if done right.
Thank you Nintendo and Sega, you heard my prayer. My weekend in quarantine is saved thanks to Panzer Dragoon. Definitely may double dip on the physical edition as well.
Not a bad display for something that came out of nowhere. Xenoblade looks lovely. Borderlands and bio shock are great (though largely predicted). Arms in smash is a great choice.
Overall, not bad, not anything that’s going to smash headlines, but for now it’ll do.
@PhilKenSebben I’m ridiculously excited for that workplace game!
Glad to see ARMS finally coming to Smash.
@EdScissorshands Turns out Good Job is developed by Paladin Studios, a Dutch indie team. So it's like The Stretchers: published by Nintendo, developed by indies.
@TheNewButler
Nintendo aren’t facing any huge challenge in the first half, in fact three-quarters of the year, especially with large parts of the world grinding to a halt.
Solid if unspectacular. Quite long for a Mini, but nothing more than library building without any huge surprises.
Panzer Dragoon! Very good day indeed. Some cool announcements in there too.
whiners, whiners and more whiners. Are you kidding me? With all the situation going on and you are still complaining? If any of the whiners would get sick, then you can complain. This company decides to put out a mini direct through all of this for you, and you still complain. There are some games I am interested in, and some games that I am not, but that is not the issue. At least Nintendo made the effort of showing a mini direct, and some of you can't even acknowledge that.
Haven't played the original Bioshock in years, still one of my favourite all time games so I'm pleased to see the collection on Switch.
Never played Xenoblade, that'll be a day one buy for me. On top of that for me is Trails of Cold Steel III, Bravely Default 2 and Catherine. Spring/summer is starting to look busy for me.
Good thing I got a 1TB card.
Awesome! I’ll be picking up that workplace game for sure! Also Borderlands and maybe Bioshock when they come out! Also really excited for that game collection! Yeah we got some remakes but I think there’s some good things in here. Definitely a nice surprise today!
Where’s all the new games!!!
@WebHead Called mini for a reason.
@Mgene15 Resident Evil 3 and Doom Eternal aren’t Sony exclusive so I don’t know why you listed them
Well, I would have liked a pre-announcement so I wouldn't have been spoiled on a lot of the news before I scrolled down to this announcement. Thanks Nintendo.
@citizenerased ah good investigation skills! From the listing on Nintendo's website it looked like a 1st party title (esp. with the Good Job! Title being a Nintendo trademark and no other dev named). Thanks for the correction
... Good Job, a brand-new Nintendo-published co-op game about the boss' son, physically wrecking a company while doing menial tasks and failing upwards in your career?
@citizenerased The Trump fans are not comfortable with that reference.
Id be all over Bravely Default 2 if it werent for Bravely Second which really dissapointed me. I hope they didnt mess up the characters this time.
For all those whining about lack of Nintendo First party games, Nintendo just released one to record breaking sales. Pokemon is still getting a lot of traction. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Smash are still flying off the shelves. They are doing fine with first party releases.
Nintendo REALLY loves to surprise us, don't they? I knew if there would be a Direct without previous announcement, it would be a Mini Direct, the longest one to date, and it happened!
But to be fair, this presentation was the perfect definition of surprise.
The third-party ports? Surprising. (and the most exciting news there), the graphics shown here? Surprising. "Launching today" announcements?! Of course they were a surprise! Brand new software? Quite surprising. New content for currently-avaliable games? Some of them were surprising. And, the absence of first-party announcements releasing after Xenoblade Chronicles? Now that was the biggest (and the most disappointing) suprise.
Seriously, after Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition releases, let's see how Nintendo's line-up will be shaping up like
No major exclusive game launching in April? Not even a certain Wii U port?
Even the "one more thing" was a previous announcement!, what's going on there? Well, I hold a theory that this was originally going to be a general Direct, but as unprecedented things happened behind-the-scenes, we instead got the longest Direct Mini to date. Nintendo will surely have some announcements the next weeks, but it'll be amusing to see how it's line-up will stack when June comes by. Oh well, time to play that Bravely Default II demo!
@kingbk,
I am more and more starting to believe that Nintendo is already planning a Switch 2 to counter the PS5 and the upcoming Xbox. Hence the lack of new first party games anouncements. That, or they are saving all for a E3 Direct, or they are putting all their resources into Zelda and Metroid.
Besides, everything is delayed/on hold because of corona. That's the sad truth we have to live with.
Is there where I come to bitterly complain that not every single one of these games appealed to my specific tastes and preferences? That seems to be what Nintendo fans do these days.
Well, finally. But I was hoping for a new big first party title. Now there aren't any Nintendo title to look forward too. Just some crappy DLC sh*t and some eShop. Well, the third parties are pretty cool.
@Henmii I'm sure Nintendo is starting work on a Switch Pro/Switch 2, but I don't know if it will be out this year. I think mid-late 2021. Microsoft and Sony might end up having to delay their new consoles until 2021. There is so much uncertainty with this pandemic.
I think Nintendo's "lack" of first party titles are for the following reasons:
1. COVID-19. 100% agree with you there. It's changing and affecting everything.
2. Success of first party titles. The games Nintendo has released first party have been wildly successful. AC New Horizons for example is breaking sales records and that's considered one of their "lesser" IPs. That, combined with indies and third party titles, allows Nintendo time in releasing first party titles.
3. Summer announcement: With E3 cancelled, I expect Summer to be the time for Nintendo to announce some new first party titles.
Wow that was so not exciting. I'm so glad they didn't livestream it, that way I got to skip through the boring stuff (which was like 95% of the Direct).
Really good Direct imo. I'm excited for most things shown. Few things to consider: this only covers the next few months and Nintendo usually only starts going full steam with their major game releases in the back half of the year. Of course Animal Crossing is an exception, but look at last year.
But yeah, I'm really happy with this. Bioshock, Borderlands, Xcom, Driller, Xenoblade, Panzer all interest me.
The Xenoblade remake looks gorgeous.
It was alright.
Most all the predictions and leaks turned out to be false, of course. Lol
This is the best we can expect for now, until June, if even then.
Most things in the world are on hold, or tentative, because of the Chinese plague.
That leak was true about both Directs
But the rumor about an actual Direct wasn't shown instead a 'Mini' was shown
That same leak was shown to go on having BOTW 2 being shown...yet it was nowhere to be shown
At this rate, this game is going to take way longer than most anticipated. Where is mah BOTW 2 info Nintendo? With E3 2020 now axed, I assume a very big presentation is on the horizon in the coming months. These rumors about BOTW 2 are starting to antagonize me to no end. Don't keep us waiting
@WebHead Obviously it's a person-to-person taste, but to be fair, it's a shadow-dropped mini direct; they didn't advertise it to be a mind-blowing extravaganza with two days in advance for you to make time for it. Expectations for anything more are because of the overhype of others.
@KingBowser I think with the state of things in the world, it's quite possible that BotW 2 (and other titles) could still be well into development but they didn't want to risk saying and potentially push it back due to the virus.
This was shadow dropped as a mini direct, so I wouldn't go all doom and gloom about it yet. We don't know what's happening past June except for Pokemon DLC in Autumn; even then, there's nothing concrete past the 29th of May. Nintendo has been bottom heavy with releases for the past couple years, so more will come and knowing about it won't make it any sooner.
I think it was a pretty good Direct. I see quite a few I will pick up but some that caught my attention are Vigor, Burnout and Saints Row which looks hilarious with that exploding head and eyes. Hard to please the world sometimes.
P.S. When are we getting Bloody Bunny? That is easily my most anticipated title.
I'm so excited for Club House Games. The first one on the DS was amazing, easily one of the best games on the system, those are some great multiplayer games.
That wasn't a mini Direct. That was a MAXI one. 30 minutes!
BioShock and Borderlands are BIG third party additions!
Also interested in checking out the Panzer Dragoon remake.
@TheNewButler I heard the same sentiment last year & Nintendo seemed to do just fine & there was plenty of excellent games to play on the Switch. This year is already off to a good start. AC is selling like hot cakes. Just because we can’t see their whole road map for 2020 doesn’t mean there aren’t more things on the horizon. There’s still so many fantastic games I haven’t even got around to on Switch. I definitely don’t see a shortage of things to play. I’ll be getting a PS5 at launch but I can bet my Switch will still be used for more hours this year.
I am over paying full price for 10+ year old ports. Between this and pixel art, I'm glad emulators are getting better. Happy to purchase new games though if we ever get any.
@WebHead That's not my problem
@Crockin an absolute must buy for you then! I've played all three multiple times and I typically don't replay games.
Massive "Ehhhh...". Ahh, well. So, when's a BotW 2 official update coming?
After over half a year if I directs once again Nintendo teases us with this lackluster trash
@nmanifold Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition is a remake with new content. If you need to understand why this is important watch this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiuDtvs-71Q&t=5s
@Steel76 There are a few remaster and ports but Xenoblade is a remake: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiuDtvs-71Q&t=5s
I was quite pleased with this shadow dropped mini....hell been so busy with end of the world stuff I didn't even get to watch it until this morning. Agree with others that Nintendo's own offerings were sparse, but really this is how the Switch lineup has been rolling out since 18......first part of the year they release maybe one or two big games or in some cases ports. This holds this year as we got AC (big to a lot of people, me not so much, my wife uh yeah) and we got the Tokyo MS (WiiU port) and Xeno (Wii HD port). They will surely have a full Direct come cancelled E3 time and will announce the second half and holiday lineups. I am sure we are going to be seeing some of the things ticking along in production like Bayo3, MP4 (please), ZBOTW2 (pretty please) and lord knows what else....so chill people and use this Corona quarantine time to catch up the backlog and play AC.
Beyond that the 3rd party announcements were thrilling to me. The 2K games are the biggest favorite announcement. Once we get XCom2 series I think Switch will have every key SRPG I have been wanting. EA gets in the game (late as usual) with a Burnout port so hopefully if it does well we will see a Madden game someday.
@kingbk,
I agree with all of your points. Nintendo games are selling very well, and Animal crossing goes through the roof. Nintendo is riding on that. But they are also riding a lot on the indies (lots of great stuff on the e-shop, even more great stuff coming our way). Yes, I believe we see their new first party stuff not before the summer. But we'll wait and see.
"Agree with others that Nintendo's own offerings were sparse, but really this is how the Switch lineup has been rolling out since 18......first part of the year they release maybe one or two big games or in some cases ports"
I agree. The second half of the year may be better, first party wise (If Corona doesn't spoil everything).
