Persona 5 Tactica (Switch)
$29.99 (-50%)
Persona 5 Tactica is a thrillingly varied tactical RPG that fans of the Phantom Thieves and the genre should take note of. It's a little on the easy side, but the varied gameplay, excellent soundtrack, striking visuals, and lovable characters all make for a very easy recommendation here. We’d especially suggest you pick this up if you really enjoyed the original Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, as we noticed a lot of parallels that can be drawn between the two. It remains to be seen if this is the last time we’ll be seeing the Phantom Thieves don their masks, but if this does turn out to be their finale, Persona 5 Tactica is a massively enjoyable sendoff for the beloved crew.

Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Complete Edition (Switch)
$7.99 (-80%)
Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville Complete Edition more than lives up to its name. A huge amount of content, lots of replayability, and an overall charming aesthetic make this an easy recommendation for anybody looking for a solid new shooter for their Switch. That said, just bear in mind that it often runs into performance issues and that the single-player offering can prove to be a little repetitive in the long run. If you can get past those issues, this release will surely prove to be worth both your time and money.
Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition (Switch)
$7.99 (-80%)
Despite its ‘Definitive Edition’ moniker, the vast majority of what you get in the Switch version of Rayman Legends has been seen in every other edition. The only truly new features here are a complete character roster for the first time and a tournament mode for its football mini-game. That’s not to say it's a bad game, though; that couldn’t be further from the truth. Rayman Legends is one of the best plumber-free platformers ever made, and its budget price means if you haven’t played it before, the Switch version is the perfect opportunity to jump in.
Red Dead Redemption (Switch)
$34.99 (-30%)
Red Dead Redemption on Switch is a straightforward port of 2010's masterpiece with no added bells or whistles for a rather high price tag at launch. If you can get over that, this is a game we highly recommend digging into, especially if you've yet to experience it. Rockstar's Western epic holds up surprisingly well, its story is as powerful as ever, its knockabout action still feels great, and it looks and plays perfectly well on Nintendo's console. Multiplayer has been cut, which is a sore but understandable excision, and we'd really have liked to see effort put into adding gyro controls or touching up the graphics a little, but it is what it is. This is a proper all-timer ported successfully to Switch and, if you can stump up the cash, you'll have a great time here regardless of the lack of TLC.
Samba de Amigo: Party Central (Switch)
$19.99 (-60%)
Samba de Amigo: Party Central brings back the cult classic monkey and all the fun that comes with him, but it does too much in the wrong places. By bombarding the player with no fewer than three different progress bars to level up in, any sense of growth, progress or leveling feels arbitrary and unnecessary. They feel like an attempt to hide the fact that Samba de Amigo is an arcade game about a dancing monkey that you can dress up in silly little outfits; it doesn't need to be an RPG, so why make it one? After all, Samba de Amigo is inherently fun—be it with maracas, a Wii remote, Joy-Con, or just buttons.
The Digital Deluxe Edition included in this sale also packs in bonus SEGA-inspired costume and music packs.
Save me Mr Tako: Definitive Edition (Switch eShop)
$7.49 (-50%)
Save Me Mr. Tako is a lovingly crafted throwback to the days of the Game Boy. While we found some rough spots with the lack of side quest tracking and ropey collision detection, they weren't enough to take away from our overall enjoyment of the game. Tako is a lovable character in a quality platformer that would have been right at home on the system it pays homage to. If you love the Game Boy — flaws and all — then you'll absolutely adore this game.
We liked the original, and the newer, updated 'Definitive Edition' (with new publisher Limited Run Games onboard) adds a new layer of polish that, despite efforts, the developer was prevented from adding via updates previously.
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game - Complete Edition (Switch eShop)
$4.89 (-67%)
Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition is a great beat ‘em up which became available to purchase once again back in 2021 after years stuck in delisted purgatory. Its bombastic presentation and crunchy combat gameplay make it enjoyable from start to finish, and though it can feel like it runs a bit short, and the difficulty spikes can be rather intense, anybody looking for a fun, short game to play in co-op is in for a treat. Let's just hope it sticks around for longer than it did last time.
Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley (Switch eShop)
$16.99 (-15%)
Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley opens with a goodbye. As an outsider, Snufkin doesn’t hibernate with the Moomins and must wander lonelily through the ice. The prospect of a reunion in the spring sets up a bittersweet mood, sews a seed of hope that grows throughout the game, and kicks off a quest to restore everything to its rightful place. Accomplished gameplay design and magical sounds and visuals make the whole adventure a delight.
The 'Cherished Keepsakes' expansion is also available in this sale for $1.79 (-10%).
Sonic Mania (Switch eShop)
$7.99 (-60%)
Sonic Mania was a true return to form for the mascot, in his 2D 'Classic' guise at least. It celebrates the glory days of the original games while also enhancing their qualities and taking on new ideas. From new areas, imaginative second acts, and some delightful boss encounters, the development team poured a lot of passion and talent into the project. With new characters and modes added in the 'Plus' retail version (also available as DLC), some neat tweaks iron out some of the kinks present in the original release, but regardless of the version you pick up, it's one of the best 2D platformers in recent memory.
You can also grab the 'Encore' DLC in this sale for $1.99 (-60%).
Sonic Origins (Switch eShop)
$14.99 (-50%)
Sonic Origins is, on one hand, a near-definitive way to experience four stone-cold classics that represent some of the highest peaks of Sonic's career. On the other, most of these games are already readily available and there aren’t many new features or additions to justify buying them yet again. The cutscenes, museum elements, and missions are all very pleasant but they're also the minimum you would expect for a series this prestigious and popular, and the disappointing Plus DLC/Version (available as a standalone purchase in this sale for $5.99) adds in playable Amy and a dozen Game Gear titles.
For players ready to play these classics for the first time, Sonic Origins is the go-to way to experience Sonic’s 16-bit heyday. Die-hard 2D Sonic veterans may be less enamoured with the package and the small but noticeable differences between the Classic Modes presented here and the games in their true original configurations. Regardless, it's sure nice to have Sonic CD available in a convenient form on the most convenient of consoles. Not perfect, then, but great comfort-food gaming.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy (Switch)
$15.99 (-60%)
Spyro Reignited Trilogy is a wonderful love letter to a classic series, keeping everything that made the original games what they were, but slapping on a fresh coat of paint for the HD era. There are a few creaking bones showing their age here and there, but only due to the developers’ desire to keep things as accurate as possible. The Switch version looks absolutely stunning and runs surprisingly well, so if you’re looking for a classic 3D platforming experience, you should definitely give this a look-in.
Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life (Switch)
$19.99 (-50%)
Story of Seasons: A Wonderful Life retains the charm and the pleasant tedium of the GameCube original while bringing enough features up-to-date that it's not a total chore to play. Fans of later farming/life-sims might find it too slow and too dull, but we encourage you to embrace the slow-and-dullness to find a surprisingly fulfilling and earnest game underneath. After all, this game is the granddaddy of Stardew Valley, and it's not too hard to see the family resemblance.
Just, uh, use a guide. Trust us.
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town (Switch)
$15.99 (-60%)
Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town offers up a perfectly satisfying and simple take on the farm sim genre. Heartwarming character interactions, easy to grasp farming mechanics, and a nice variety of side activities prove to make this release a potent and worthwhile entry in this long-running series. Though its roots as a handheld game occasionally resurface and there’s not a ton of new content added for this remake, Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town more than stands enough on its own as a quality game that deserves a spot in your Switch library. If you’re looking for something to fill that post-Animal Crossing hole in your life, or are just simply a fan of the farm sim genre in general, don’t miss out on this one.
Super Meat Boy (Switch eShop)
$7.49 (-50%)
Super Meat Boy is another excellent indie addition to Switch's library. The short, but challenging levels are a perfect fit for portable play, and the game runs perfectly in both handheld and TV modes. The tight platforming mechanics and wealth of hidden warp zones, bandages and playable characters are enough to keep us coming back for more. We wish it would add support for video capture features, if only so we can brag about our accomplishments, but it doesn't hinder our enjoyment of the game. If you haven't played this on another platform, or just want to play it on the go, pick this up.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge (Switch eShop)
$16.24 (-35%)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is the best Turtles beat 'em up ever made, and a faster, better-looking, and arguably more entertaining affair than even Streets of Rage 4. It looks delicious, sounds superb, and rekindles childhood memories beyond all expectation, time-warping you back to 1987. Its combat system is so much fun to mine that you feel compelled to keep coming back to try new strategies, and with its awesome co-op multiplayer, the experience evolves again and again. Like any beat 'em up, it does get repetitive as you enter the last third, but that’s more a fault of the concept than the game. Shredder’s Revenge really is an unprecedented shell-ebration.
The Dimension Shellshock DLC (available individually in this sale for $6.39 or $20.77 bundled with the base game) adds new fighters and a Survival mode, too.
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe (Switch eShop)
$14.99 (-40%)
A thoroughly enjoyable expansion of an already classic game treated with love, care, and most importantly a meta awareness that pays tribute to everything that made the original so beloved. The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe may leave a small few questioning more than they’d like, but we wouldn’t want it any other way.
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 (Switch)
$15.99 (-60%)
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 on Nintendo Switch is a rock-solid port of a pair of genuinely fantastic remakes. These really are two of the very best arcade sports titles of all time, revamped, reworked and re-imagined for modern audiences with all the graphical bells and whistles, collectibles and game modes we've come to expect in this day and age. With flawless performance in both docked and handheld modes and visuals that still look the part after a few necessary concessions here and there, this is one collection we highly recommend you kickflip right into.
Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes (Switch)
$14.99 (-50%)
Billed as a side dish, Travis Strikes Again: No More Heroes has been prepared with enough love and affection to become a filling meal on its own, packed with the spice and spirit you’d expect from Travis Touchdown. It’s a fun, indie-inflected blast of hack-and-slash which doesn’t change the world mechanically (and don’t go in expecting No More Heroes 3), but its sincerity and energy are charming. It’s an adult game – a gamer’s game – foul-mouthed and dripping with style. If you’re sitting on the fence, we’d recommend diving in, if only to support its infectious, celebratory spirit; Suda51 seems to have a real affection for Nintendo hardware and this makes you feel lucky to have him working on Switch.
Unicorn Overlord (Switch)
$41.99 (-30%)
Even amidst a huge strategy RPG boom, Unicorn Overlord stands out. It’s a smorgasbord of visual delights, intricate systems, and addictive gameplay loops that all come together to create a delightfully thrilling and deep tactical RPG. It’s so easy to get absorbed into everything the game offers, and we lapped it all up. Vanillaware has long been known for creating beautiful-looking games with unique twists on genres, but with 13 Sentinels and now Unicorn Overlord, this developer should be on absolutely everyone’s radar.
UNSIGHTED (Switch eShop)
$7.99 (-60%)
Unsighted combines some very familiar ideas: it’s a top-down, roguelite, sci-fi Metroidvania with a strong 16-bit aesthetic. Its time-is-ticking, post-apocalyptic scenario is brought to life by the enchanting palettes of its pixel art, making a world you want to explore, full of characters you want to know. Far from punishing, it leans more on the 'lite' than the 'rogue', letting fun prevail – as it will, thanks to the addictive rhythm of the controls, backed by punchy sounds. The cooperative multiplayer is icing on top of an already well-iced cake. Combining flavours of Super Nintendo classics with modern playability, Unsighted is the game 1995 desperately wanted to make but just didn’t know how.
Windjammers 2 (Switch eShop)
$9.99 (-50%)
With Windjammers 2, Dotemu has taken the fiendishly addictive core formula of the Neo Geo classic and improved upon it in every way. The core gameplay here remains as immediately endearing as ever whilst being enhanced and given a real strategic kick by a bevvy of new moves and skills that add to the fun without detracting from or overcomplicating proceedings. Yes, there's not much in the way of modes, but this is another banger from Dotemu — an all-time classic improved upon, an arcade classic refined for a new generation.
Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap (Switch eShop)
$5.99 (-70%)
It's clear that the team at Lizardcube are massive fans of the original Wonder Boy III, and that affection translates into what is without a shadow of a doubt the definitive version of a game. The updated visuals are sumptuous and the soundtrack, which uses traditional instrumentation rather than computer-generated audio, proves just how catchy the original tunes were. Despite the passing of the years Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap remains a perfectly-pitched non-linear action adventure — a Metroidvania before the term coagulated into existence — which must surely rank as one of the best of the 8-bit era. It can be completed in the space of an evening, but that evening will be one of the most enjoyable you can possibly spend with your Switch.
There you have it! That's all of the games (and DLC) currently available in the North American 'Recollection Collection' sale. Will you be picking up any of the above? Let us know your picks in the comments below.

That's a pretty good name for this sale.
For anyone on the fence, Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap for that price is an absolute steal.
This is a really good sale between the games included, some of their discounts and yes, also its name, happy for those of you in the US!
Recollection collection, what a banger name
Don't live in NA so I won't be taking advantage of these sales myself, but the Ace Attorney Anthology for $45 is a fantastic deal for a bundle which encompasses every mainline AA game thus far. Can't recommend it enough personally for those looking to dive into the series as a whole (especially when Edgeworth's games are on the horizon ^_^)
That "blub" for GTA sounds like it is from the original article.
We know there have been updates to the game, so why not re-review it and let us get some new insight to it.
It may be worth a purchase now!
Pocky & Rocky Reshrined is also on sale now, and that game is never on sale.
Don’t like that there’s not table of contents at the top of this article, and I have to manually scroll through both pages looking at a the dozens of the ads to see if there’s a game that appeals to me.
Feels uncharacteristically icky for Nintendo Life- giving me big IGN article vibes. Unsure if the ToC omission was intentional, but the result is a gross feeling on my part. Like the primary purpose of the article isn’t to inform me, but to build revenue by getting my eye on as many adverts as possible.
Please add a ToC in future articles like this one- its existence in past “list” articles is a big reasons why I gravitate towards NL over other outlets like IGN.
Shadow Man is on sale for $10 so I finally picked it up. Mega nostalgia trip from the N64 days for me.
@Danondorf "dozens of the ads" That's on you at this point xD
Ace Attorney is actually more than 20 years. I'm pretty sure the original game launched on the GBA in Japan in 2002.
They didn't get a western release until Capcom ported the GBA trilogy to the DS (I only guess the touch features the DS added made it more interesting to Capcom, in those early days when devs wanted to capitalize on that pre-smartphone-era "touch" craze).
Hades is only 10$, been thinking about buying it for years maybe now is the time!

Use Brave Internet Browser.
It automatically gets rid of advertising!
It is much better than using multiple versions of adblock!
