After Nintendo of America announced its 'Mega Extreme Fun' sale last week, we had a sneaking suspicion that it wouldn't be long before the European eShop was treated to one of its own. Well, here it is!
The 'Summer Sale' (a groundbreaking title if we've ever seen one) has begun on the European Switch eShop today (10th June) and will be offering discounts of up to 75% off select titles until 23rd June.
There is a much greater range of eShop games included in this sale than its North American counterpart, with indie gems like Pentiment, COCOON and Penny's Big Breakaway joining the heavy-hitting likes of Breath of the Wild, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury and EA Sports FC 24 in the savings.
We have pulled out a handful of sale highlights for you to check out below, but be sure to head over to the Switch eShop to see the full range of games on offer.
If any of the following take your fancy, you can grab some eShop credit from our store.

So many great deals, almost too many, this will be costly even at the reduced prices haha. Started off with Civ 6 which has an incredible 90% off, down to £2.49 I believe it was.
Will explore some more, think Dragon Quest XI at about £22 will also get picked up.
Still hoping for the starlink star fox pack to go on sale at some point!
Direct this week then?
Up to 92% off.
There is also some Warner games at 90% off.
I've been intentionally holding off from as much gaming as possible for the past couple months as I make my way through my summer exams, but this is finally going to be the sale where I just go absolutely WILD with my purchases.
I've been planning it out for a good bit too; I'm going to be picking up:
....and probably many more I'm currently forgetting XD
The Outer Wilds and The House in Fata Morgana are both 30% off- two of the best games I’ve ever played, you owe it to yourself to check them out if you haven’t already.
@ralphdibny have you looked in Europe? I bought the thing for 5 bucks in a bargain bin. Arlo got like 10 or something in the same manner! 😂
Grim Fandango under 5 bucks...YES PLEASE! 🤎
There aren't too many tempting deals on my wish list but that's because I already own most of the stuff I was particularly interested in at this point. The Case of the Golden Idol though and Sentiment are the two that I might grab.
@Munchlax The House in Fata Morgana is on my wishlist, saw the discount on that one too, very tempting!
@garfreek I mean the star fox dlc, I did get all of phase 1 in the bargain bin!
@Bex_Tries ive had Civ for years on both switch and ps4 and just cant get my head around it. I love the idea but it just bamboozled me every time i played it. I didnt know what i was doing or why i was doing it, even when i followed a guide for beginners.
Other wishlist games I'll consider:
Abzu £3.74
Deleveled £2.94
Thumper £6.39
The House of Fata Morgana £22.04
Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc £5.39
Cosmic Star Heroine £7.69
Pentiment £8.99
Spyro Trilogy £13.99
What Remains of Edith Finch £4.49
Paranormasight £9.59
Would love to hear what games others are considering. Can sometimes be tricky to search through the store with so much packed in there!
@Kidfunkadelic83 I played Civ 2 back in the day, a big favourite as a kid. There's definitely a lot to take in and I'm bracing for a lot of stuff I haven't seen since Civ 4 I think was the last I tried. Hopefully with some easier difficulty settings and nostalgia-driven perseverance it will hopefully hit the spot for me Understand that it wouldn't be for everyone though for sure. At least at such a low price, I won't feel too bad if I similarly struggle!
Picked up Doom Eternal Complete bundle for less than £15.
I might have to get Civ VI at that price even if I never end up playing it… Played the original back in the day. Not sure I have the time and patience for it any more, but know it’s quality.
Tunic, Pentiment, Death’s Door on the other hand… Hard to resist!
Let the cartoon… begin!
@Munchlax
Well, I was thinking of The House of Fata Morgana. This recommendation is enough for me to grab it. I don't want to owe myself anything.
Bought the expansion pass for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 for 20 istead of 30 €
Nothing really sparked my interest, so I ended up picking Castlevania: Advance Collection, which was on my wishlist since it came out.
When I played Starfield on release on my Series X then the main impact it had on me was to go back and play the Outer Worlds again, which is just so much more enjoyable a sci fi Skyrim/Fallout type thing. If the Switch port is a good one then I'll be grabbing that for another run through. And Civ 6 for a couple of quid is a no brainer.
I'm also a sucker for a snooker/pool game (going back to the original Jimmy White's Cue ball) so I'm going to grab Pure Pool for under a fiver.
Just picked up Berkserk Boy on sale.
@ralphdibny Ohhh, didn't know there was DLC! 🤎
@NintendoPete I think I'll bite. I've just started Xenoblade Chronicles 2's DLC, but I have the third game on my backlog, and I definitely plan to play the DLC considering the great reviews of the DLC and the stellar track record of Monolith Studios.
Ibnevef though I'd like the Xenoblade franchise this much. I'm a bit burned out of jRPG, but these games are so great.
