What ever happened to that Poker one from the last Indie Direct, you could learn to cheat or bend the rules, it had a story mode of some sort?
edit
Looked it up, Card Shark, 18th century, you played against nobles and such. Where's that game at!
There weren't really any particular standouts for me this time around but there's probably quite a few I'll end up buying. Already grabbed FEZ.
@bluemujika You mean Card Shark? Still scheduled for sometime this year as far as I'm aware.
It was fine I guess. Not much for me personally but eh.
Most of the games that looked interesting to me seemed to be in the sizzle reel (House of the Dead remake and KeyWe for example), but hopefully people found something out of it.
There was a lot that didn’t grab me ‘immediately’, because it was all new. But after seeing the trailers again I actually am now looking forward to a lot of them!
I will pick up FEZ and ‘there is no game’ this weekend.
Also, Ender Lilies looks like a Hollow Knight clone that looks very promising to me!
Always wanted to play Fez, so looking forward to that. And loved Oxenfree so will pick up the sequel! Not too shabby for a Nindie Direct overall. I assume Hollow Knight is going to get the full Nintendo Direct treatment!
Very generic in general. Everything is just copying something else. That Pokémon Snap rip-off looks reasonable and it’s interesting to see a new version of House of the Dead. But in general, it’s hard to get excited by the umpteenth roguelike to come out this week.
I'm so happy that Cris Tales got a release date because I loved the demo.
I bought and started playing Fez last night; I like it. I'll admit that I'm a big kid; I'm really excited about TMNT: Shredder's Revenge. Seeing OlliOlli Oxenfree reminds me of childhood games of tag. (I know it's actually two separate games, but my brain finds it amusing to mash them together.)
It was a decent event, although the only game to catch my interest, was the new TMNT game.
Fez and House of the dead (if light gun is released) is on my physical watch list now
Oh, i saw Beast of Maravilla Island looks like photography games with 3D Adventure. I saw some potential there.
And of course i already knew KeyWe from play-asia.
Very nice indie world. 7 games I know I want and 5 I am curious about. My bank account is sad though.
I'd forgotten about that kiwi game until now but it looks so lovely.
Good stuff! If you just allow me to be spoilt: where was Baldo?
Was hoping for release dates for Baldo and especially Eastward, but not a bad presentation.
Skul, Labyrinth, Getsu and Aztech seem promising. Looking forward to hear more from them.
But for now, I finally used the Indie sale to get may hands into Dead Cells, which I hope will keep me entertained at least half as much as Hades.
Turtles looks like a lot of fun! Looking forward to that
Fez, TMNT, House of the Dead (if gyro), Oxenfree 2 & OlliOlliWorld are the big 5 for me there.
Certainly an interesting presentation but nothing really grabbed me bar those 5. Maybe the relaibale reviews of the others will uncover something in the overall game that I would like?
Turtles could be a game of the year contender for me. Fez, olliolli, and house of the dead were nice surprises to.
The Fez soundtrack is a bop.
@Vriess I was similarly hoping for some mighty goose news, but alas, we still got some cool new games.
I didn't expected much and now I'm pretty excited! Some people might find it bland because there wasn't any big known title, but for me it is good to see new projects.
Also, they're getting a bit loose with their definition of "indie" game...
Ehh wasn’t a great indie world.
Fez looks ok, and I might pick up Skul but apart from that it was rather boring.
To those of you expecting Silksong and Axiom Verge 2, I'm sorry
@stinky_t ...and Sports Story.
@Tandy255 I knew there was one I was forgetting
is there a way to look only at the 400 games that are part of this specific sale? I dont want to sift through the other +600 games that are also on sale 😬
Once again I am angry that there were so many great games I want to play but not enough time to play them.
I hope Nintendo will add a couple hours to the day in a future Direct. Surely they have that power.
@JackBlue thank you - I know about these filters I was really referring to this specific sale, since I was interested to see how Nintendo curated it.
ENDER lilies has really high steam user reviews and really intiguing art style.
This and the Longing will be my game picks for the next 3 months.
Hope to get soon on the switch:
Griftlands and loop hero.
@jaronimoe if you go to Nintendo.com there’s is a page for the indie world sale only showing those games
Def getting Olli Olli World, TMNT and about to try the demo for Never Yield, that game looks sick, I like the music a lot and it looks super fun. House of the Dead remake is intriguing af but price point and how they deal with the light gun will sway me or not. Oh and Pierre the Maze Detective is in my sights too. I thought it was pretty a pretty solid indie world!
That Aztech game looks pretty dope honestly. But I know TMNT and Skul I will buy for sure
There Is No Game looks particularly delicious, but there's a lot of other stuff to go on my wishlist besides. Road 96, Aztech, Beasts of Maravilla Island (fancy getting a new Pokemon Snap AND what looks like an inspiration drawn from Pokemon Snap in one year), Oxenfree II, OlliOlli World... and that's just the new stuff, without the earlier known highlights like Cris Tales, KeyWe or Ender Lillies. I also frankly gave up on expecting a Switch port of Fez by now, but here we are!
Good Indie Direct overall. Nice variety of titles.
Unfortunately everything revealed seems like either Furry Bait or Alternative Aesthetics Inc.
Fez and Labyrinth City are the only two games that look legitimately unique and interesting, IMO.
After A Short Hike, Evergate and Bad North, I’ve learned to never underestimate indies that don’t initially look appealing. While the only one that caught me this time was TNMT (mostly for nostalgia), I’m keeping my eyes wide open for gems in this list.
Nothing this time that appeals me unfortuantly .
