From its Golf Story sequel opening to the juicy Axiom Verge 2 reveal, the December Nintendo Indie World showcase gave us plenty of things to be excited about.
When you've got announcements flying at you from all directions in such a short amount of time, though, it can be pretty difficult to actually take in what each game has to offer. So, we thought it'd be best to give you a quick round-up of all the games on show including trailers, quick descriptions straight from Nintendo, and even handy links to our own coverage of each title should you want to take a deeper dive. Aren't we nice?
Here we go, then! Here are all of the games shown in order of appearance, and the full video if you need to catch up:

This was an exceptional presentation, so much great stuff! Really psyched for Sports Story and I thought SuperMash looked amazing. My only disappointment was how far all the release dates seemed - until I realised 2020 is now just three weeks away!
WHERE WAS SMASH AND BOTW 2!!?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I love the concept of SuperMash! If they've done it well it could become a new favourite of mine.
Both my brother and I dreamed of a game like this so I hope it's done really well. If it allows 1-switch co-op I'm sure we'll play it all the time. Then we'll be the Super Mash Bros!
@KingKRoolMain this was Indie Direct. Not Nintendo Direct
This Nindies Direct really hit my Indie Buttons esp. SportsStory & Axiom Verge2. Who needs a full direct eh?!
Holy crap, SuperMash is the game I never knew I wanted.
It's freakin' genius!
Are there any games mentioned exclusively in the Japanese presentation confirmed for the west?
I really like Golf Story, but not being able to restart a mission quickly is very painful. When I know I am not going to get a good score or even finish the objective, I either have to waste time getting the remaining shots off or restart the game and go through loading screens and sometimes lengthy dialog before I start another try at the mission. Hopefully they add a quick restart option for the sequel.
@LavaTwilight I think (hope) that KingKRoolMain was joking.
@KingKRoolMain Are you being serious or are you trolling?
I usually love the Indie presentations, but I felt like this one was a bit underwhelming. Sports Story was great to see as well as a few others, but for the most part nothing really stood out. I'm also extremely skeptical about SuperMash. Sounds great in concept, but I feel like it's going to be really hard to nail!
Also, anyone else missing our old presenters? I don't want to be mean, but these two are definitely my least favorites (and they did the last one or two indie presentations, if I remember right). I just don't feel like they exude as much energy or at least sincere interest. Damon and whoever came before him (name is slipping my mind) were much better imho.
The two tailenders as usual are the best of the bunch. Sports Story in particular should be great!
Dauntless is a bit laggy in portable mode. Didn't try on TV.
Twitch Prime rewards i redeemed ages ago, unlocked on Switch version too.
Just link Epic account with Nintendo account.
Free Twitch Prime rewards/DLC for Switch games right now.
SuperMash, Sail Forth and the Survivalists piqued my interest but all-round great quality by the looks of it.
Sports Story and Supermash catch my eye. Not bad at all for the Indie showing this time.
Oh and I downloaded Dauntless immediately. Looking forward to trying it out this weekend but we'll see how that goes.
Sports Story, Axiom Verge 2
Edge of cliff
Everything else
Gleamlight looks exactly the same as Hollow Knight.
Bring on the Birb!
@Chunkboi79 trolling, definitely..
@ilh I thought the same.. since silk song (I hope so) is close, who needs another metroidvania? the game looks nice, but...
OMG, I keep buying indies and some awesome ones keep releasing...
Just bought on the sale, katana, horizon chase turbo, sonic mania and killer black queen! still have to buy, cadence of hyrule, the mensenger, mark of the ninja, ori and cuphead... and now they remind me I have to take a look in axion verge bfore the second..
@rex_rex Mark of the Ninja is probably one of my all time favs. That game is just great.
I'd be excited about the Survivalists if the Escapist wasn't so complicated that I never finished it.
Great Indies world (probably the best so far). Day one sports story and axiom verge 2 (the first is an absolute masterpiece) and should also buy gleamlight (still have to see a bit more), the smash mash looks odd but maybe it will be good
I am definitely interested in The Talos Principle
Can't wait for Sport Story, really hope they do a physical combo pack
Brilliant little show, loved the look of lots of these. Very excited for SuperMash, Strangers Wrath HD, Liberated and Streets of Rage 4 in particular.
A murder mystery Picross game?! Hells bells.
@rex_rex Dude you should have seen the youtube comment section during the stream. It was horrible.
Amazing presentation!
Very interested in 80% of the games shown,
that's unusual
I loved this Nindies presentation. Lots of stuff I want.
I even want to play Sports Story, which is surprising because I’m one of the few weirdos who didn’t entirely enjoy Golf Story.
Axiom Verge 2
Sports Story
I got Dauntless but it’s an absolute mess. Should have kept it in the oven for a while longer...
@KingKRoolMain The youtube chat in a nutshell
@Vepra yesss, i swear, i was almost buying when a great friend told me, if you dont buy katana, ill kill you.. hahaha! but yes, the graphics were superb, sure ill pick it at some time.. i promise!
I was really hoping for some Picontier news in this showcase. I’ve been waiting for that for like what.. over a year now? A year and a half? 2 years? I’m really excited for that and wish it was still being made for 3DS alongside Switch. Oh well. I’m buying either way!
@Chunkboi79
You seem like a Donkey Kong Main to ME. HMMMMMMMMM
@rex_rex I had to double check the developers to make sure it wasn't a sequel to Hollow Knight and couldn't believe when I found out it was somebody different and unrelated. It's one thing making a game that looks OR plays similarly but both the gameplay and the art style are near enough identical.
