A lot of interesting looking titles but not sure how many of them I'll actually get the chance to play with how large my Switch backlog is at this point. Will definitely be keeping an eye on them though. Already been playing a bit of Exit the Gungeon which is pretty fun.
Blue Fire, Summer in Mara and The Last Campfire all look very nice to me. Baldo looks pretty good, even though isometric camera angles aren't my thing. Also, Pixeljunk is supposed to be very good so I may try that out.
Also, Quantum League is one that looks like it will end up great or really boring. I hope it's not the latter.
Baldo and Summer in Mara look promising.
Baldo, Blue fire and The last campfire seem awesome. Summer in mara and I am dead are really interesting too. I was overall amused by this direct. Now I'm aboard the hype train for the big direct next week (according to the rumors).
Can we just appreciate how many timed exclusive Nintendo - of all console makers - managed to snag this time around? Sure, they're indies, but holy cow.
This is why Nintendo will always be the best. Nindies, Nintendo always innovates like no other,
Blue Fire, Baldo, The Last Campfire and Faeria all look quite appealing to me.
Don't know much about Sky: Children of Light but as it's from thatgamescompany I'll most likely buy it. Journey and Flower remain two of my favourite games.
It's odd but the title that really caught my eye was Wingspan! I really do like some bird-spotting.
Some nice looking gems on offer. I'll start adding to my wishlist as they become available.
@Ralizah D E S P A I R
Really like how Nintendo is courting indie developers this gen. Good presentation and feel it’s a good move by Nintendo to get a lot of these as timed exclusives. Now time for a proper direct to showcase what’s up and coming in 2020.
Last campfire and I am dead intrigue and quantum league looks Ike a really fresh idea.
I will be picking up Wingspan. I own the board game (and its expansion) and it's one of my favorite board games! Looking forward to the digital version.
Ghost of a Tale should have been highlighted more! That game is incredible.
Both Baldo and Moving Out catch my eye. I have a passing interest in some of the others, but I'm unsure if I'd get around to them. I'm a recent Switch adopter and already have quite a backlog of retail games. XD
The Last Campfire and Blue Fire look the most promising to me – good dev pedigrees and there is some passion in the projects..
Regarding Baldo, it's a bit hard to tell if its got interest beyond the visuals – we'll see, but I have concerns.
Summer in Mara has terrible animations - and that's usually an insight into how 'crafted' the rest of the game it. Currently I expect poor reviews for this one – and glad to be wrong of course – but we've seen it time and time again.
Quantum League and The Good Life look awful and I expect them to be as bad as they look.
And there are a few other gems such as that Shmup.
This presentation didn't do much for me. Not saying the games don't look good, just that there was precious little that interested me personally, which is usually not the case.
Still looking forward to Axiom Verge 2!
Blue Fire is easily the game I am most anticipated with! That game reminds me of some of my favorites from my childhood. I think my second choice would be Exit The Gungeon. That game in particular would have to be much different compared to Enter the Gungeon since I played that one to death and don't want more of the same. I haven't checked the trailer yet though. Still though, it was a pretty good Indie Direct!
I genuinely feel that this was the best Indie World yet! There are three games that look like a must-get for this summer.
I’d bet they heard the gripes about “too many same-y pixel graphics too” which I appreciate. Many of these games gave me GameCube vibes
Did anyone else find the Baldo presentation funny? Couldnt help but have a little giggle to myself seeing a bald man with the word Baldo in big letters behind him.
A great showcase of the upcoming indie offers for the Switch. Plenty of timed exclusives, Nintendo's courting to the Indies has certainly paid off. Quite a few of these are possible buys down the line hopefully....
I want that Baldo!
Off-topic: Hey Nintendolife, the Trials of Mana demo has been out for hours in the european eshop, won't you do any news for that?? It's one the most anticipated games (at least in my case haha)
I'm very happy that The Good Life was finally confirmed for the Switch, that's definitely a must-have title for me, and i hate playing games on PC.
It would also have been weird not to put it on the Switch considering Swery fans already need a Switch for Deadly Premonition 2.
Another positive surprise for me was B.ARK, it was about time someone realised that shmups can be attractive for more then just the hardest of the hardcore.
A refreshing mix of nice looking 2D and 3D games. I’m a little burnt out of 2D pixelated Indie games tbh.
None of this really looks interesting to me.
Pixeljunk Eden 2 ! I was waiting for a follow-up game since 10 years. Holy moly.
like the fact there are a few 3d adventure games, quite a lot to like here
only really dicey dungeons and wingspan intrigue me... oh well, hopefully a direct will come in the next few weeks
The Good Life, Baldo and I Am Dead look the most exciting to me. Also I almost forgot but Wingspan is also interesting...is it like a birdwatching simulation game?
Also, Ghost of a Tale is a game I've always looked at but never got around to picking it up. Is it good?
Seems like it was strong indie direct overall.
A few great ones in there, others I can wait a while after they launch.
@the_beaver They already did an article about it.
Hoped for Nintendo/indie game
Oh well....
Having timed exclusives is a waste of Nintendo's effort and money. All of the timed exclusives in this collection would likely sell betting on Switch anyway. Take that money and invest it in 2nd party exclusives.
Anyhoo, good stuff in here. I will be getting 5 or 6 of these.
@BenAV I'm keeping my eye on Summer of Mara, but even if it reviews well, I might forego it for the same reason I'm currently foregoing Rune Factory: my sim-gaming time is limited, and there's another sim franchise I'm more interested in with a new game on Friday. I counted four games in the presentation that, assuming they reached the potential suggested, were definite buys; unfortunately with the size of my backlog that doesn't mean a definite play.
@sketchturner Yeah! Was waiting for a Switch release as the DreamWorks dude said he wanted it on there. Gave up a month ago and bought it on ps4. Ain't it the way it goes? Surprised you have the only comment about it on here!
