Awesome direct, one of the best in years, looks like Nintendo are going for a huge total with the Switch hardware, would not expect a new Switch until late 2024 early 2025 at the earliest.
I just only interested a little bit by Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC as I'm not a fan of too many DLC things. I might consider the DLC next year, not in hurry to play the DLC.
But overall, the Direct was disappointing me. 🙁
Best direct ever (that I have seen) hands down!
You know that meme where Vincent McMahon gets more and more excited? That was me from Strikers all the way to XC3.
Probably the best direct I've ever seen.
It was feeling a little lackluster for most of it but then Xenoblade hit and made the whole presentation. Between that, Mario Strikers and the Mario Kart DLC, it's hard to complain.
This year's lineup is feeling very similar to 2017's (which is a good thing):
Breath of the Wild -> Breath of the Wild 2
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 -> Xenoblade Chronicles 3
Splatoon 2 -> Splatoon 3
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe -> Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC
Fire Emblem Warriors -> Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes
Super Mario Odyssey -> Kirby and the Forgotten Land
Add on the likes of Mario Strikers, Pokemon Legends: Arceus, Advance Wars, Bayonetta 3, Triangle Strategy, etc. and this is shaping up to be the Switch's strongest year to date.
Meh, can’t complain about the range of games, but no Zelda news at all was a shame. I’m hoping Nintendo do a separate Direct for that down the line
Might be my least favorite direct from Nintendo. A lot of remakes of games I've already played or not interested in, ports, and DLC. Kirby looks interesting but we already knew that, and not a Splatoon or xenogears fan. It dodged all the franchises I enjoy. At least ff6 pr releases soon on PC.
@johnvboy
Did you say aaaaaaaa by accidentally while typing ? 😆
@Mattock1987 Assuming it hasn't been delayed, it'll be a late year release (probably like November) so they'll likely just save the big title/launch date reveal for the E3 Direct.
For me it was a very weak direct compared to my other platforms.
This was just a fun direct for me. Nintendo was backed into a corner with existing IP’s, so I knew they had to release some stuff, and they did not disappoint. My favorite announcement has gotta be Mario Strikers. It’s one of the few Mario IP’s that I haven’t played, and I’m excited to give it a go on Switch.
This direct was so good! We got so many new games plus updates on Splatoon 3 and Kirby. I’d rate the direct line a 7/10
As a JRPG & Mecha fan, this direct just wowed me. Obviously stuff I had no interest in (MLB, Splatoon 3, Disney Kart) but with a mixture of classic rereleases (Live A Live, Chrono Cross, Front Mission), brand new stuff (Xenoblade 3, Gundam) and expansions (MK8 DLC) I was very satisfied for what I was expecting.
Very solid Direct! I just having trouble justifying all the $60 price tags, especially when Nintendo almost NEVER puts a decent/permanent discount on its first-party titles. I’m the kind to wait for a Mario sports game to be added to Nintendo Selects, but that line has been sorely missing during the Switch’s lifespan.
@BenAV true, but not just BOTW2, other Zelda ports, DLC, anything would’ve been good
@Mattock1987 Fair enough. I'm not really expecting to hear any other Zelda news this year. Think it'll just be all about Breath of the Wild 2 once they're ready to show it off more.
Way more than I expected! Was hoping for a new mainline fire emblem but I'll gladly take three hopes, age of calamity was great so high hopes for that one.
Strikers looks really fun as does Kirby (or Herbie!) and triangle strategy.
Still have to play the xenoblade games, got the first one on 3ds, one of those 'I swear I'll get to it one day' games.
Chrono cross is interesting, always wanted to play trigger but it's never been available on the consoles I've own, do I need to have played that for the second?
Live a live looks cool, never heard of it before but I like the concept of playing different characters from efferent eras. Whether or not I'll actually play it remains to be seen.
Also no Splatoon 3 release date? That was one of my more certain predictions.
This was one of the best Directs ever imo. The Wii era is alive and well!
Mario Kart 8 DLC
Splatoon 3
Kirby
Zombie Army
Force Unleashed
Klonoa
………so much good stuff
@Anti-Matter,
Yes P.C locked up there for a second, just edited the post.
@Fizza,
Looks like old Nintendo feels there is plenty of life left in the Switch, could be their best selling console ever.
It is hilarious going on Reddit now and seeing all the subs complain about all this stuff.
That said, no batman arkham collection? What gives, man?!
@Gwynbleidd I was also sort of disappointed but NSO is better than nothing. I'm hoping that if they ever release Mother 3 then they'll make a trilogy collection so that you can actually own the games.
The Switch will have a better sunset than probably any other Nintendo console
Was really hoping to see Batman collection announced at the collections segment.
I'm still hoping to see it in the near future.
Absolutely fantastic direct. It started off bleh for me as I don’t like Warriors games and the new Fire Emblem is one of them. But after that it was all uphill. Kirby and Advance Wars look fantastic. I was happy to see Salmon Run return in Splatoon 3. Earthbound coming for free for all NSO users. Mario Kart 8 DLC (its Nintendo’s GTA V now) which I’m oddly happy with. The return of Wii Sports with a much needed redesign and rebranding (although I don’t like waiting til fall to play golf). Portal coming to Switch is awesome. Xenoblade 3 at the end was great. And, of course, THE RETURN OF MARIO STRIKERS. Welcome back, old pal.
Yeah, I thought it was a great showing. The first half of this year and beyond looks super good!
@HamatoYoshi,
Just bomb after bomb, when Mario strikers was announced thought that was the biggie, with another good announcement at the end, but the whole thing was awesome, also did you notice the engine revving sound when the direct logo came up at the start of the presentation, made me think Mario Kart right away, and I nearly fell of my chair when they announced Switch Sports.
This Direct had pretty much something for everyone. Best one in a good while.
@johnvboy agreed, it was great, no matter what your preferred genre there was something for everyone but the Mario Kart DLC was the icing on the cake for me.
I don't even know where to start commenting on this, from first party stuff like a new FEW, a new Mario Strikers and an effin' new Xenoblade to the third party bonanza including No Man's Sky, Portal dilogy and everything Square Enix [that wasn't Kingdom Hearts]. A Disney racer is also welcome - even as a freemium, it could easily outshine Mario Kart Tour as a game on a device with buttons and with the potential of a lot more character variety to anticipate and grind for than a Molybdenum Toad.😅
A fantastic Direct already setting up another fantastic year for Switch. I'm seriously humouring the chances of the console beating PS2 and NDS in lifetime sales. Heck, it's even getting its own Wii Sports now!😄
I'm generally never get disappointed in Nintendo's Directs, as I never set my expectations too high. Some games that Nintendo announces during Directs just aren't for me. But I'm not sure if I have had this many games that I was excited for after a Direct. This was my favorite Direct in recent memory.
Eh it was whatever for me. I did want to see a new Fire Emblem, but yikes, I don't like Warriors gameplay and I'm very much over Three Houses, so that's a hard pass. Kirby looks great but I was already sold on it. Xenoblade is also interesting but I don't like 2 and will likely never finish it; I'll have to read a story synopsis, so maybe I'll get it? The rest mostly didn't interest me. Mario Kart DLC was definitely a highlight, can't wait for that! I have the expansion pack, too, so no extra charge for me.
-Mario Strikers, Mario Kart 8 DLC and Portal are absolute wins for me. Kirby still looks amazing.
-I'm cautiously optimistic for Switch Sports, but it's lacking the charm of Wuhu Island and the music and Fall is a long time to wait for the next update.
-I'll keep an eye on Disney Speedstorm because the courses look great. But free to play is a massive red flag and the karts are terrible.
-I've always wanted to play the Force Unleashed, but it looks a bit rubbish graphically so I'll wait on reviews and a price.
-Klonoa looks fun even if I've never heard of it.
-No Batman was a huge surprise...
Overall, the best direct for me in years.
@HamatoYoshi,
It brought a tear to my eye when it showed Choco Mountain, this is one of my all time favorite courses, and looks very dated on the N64, but did look a little better in Mario Kart 7, this will be the ultimate though, and it's coming in the very first wave.
Most hyped about, Xenoblade! Amazing looking game. This game got me equal hyped with Zelda lol.
Next Triangle, mario kart support, etc.
But man i soo want xenoblade asap lol.
Easily one of the best Directs Nintendo has ever done.
Lack of Breath of the Wild 2 may cast a bit of a shadow over everything and Fire Emblem Warriors showing up over a mainline Fire Emblem was a surprise, but other than that, this was a great showcase which shows that the Switch has many years of life remaining.
kids will ove mario kart dlc. but no mans sky on switch thats going be wait and see
Best Nintendo Direct in years for me. So many games releasing in so little time and without having budget will require decisions. MK8 the best announcement
fantastic Direct. I'll never touch No Man's Sky again and I have zero interest in Splatoon or Sports, but everything else really hit for me
@Mattock1987 they mentioned Zelda twice but it had nothing to do with an actual Zelda game.. idc about BoTw.. I KNOW that’s coming so that’s cool and all.. but I was really hoping for Twilight Princess or Wind Waker.. especially when they started announcing the ‘collection’ section towards the end.. let down as usual
Can’t wait to see the review of Kingdom Hearts Integrum for cloud. I hope it will get a deserved 1. It’s so frustrating for waiting so many years to finally get this games ported, and when they were announced to see this joke of cloud.
Man! What is left for E3? We still probably have more surprises coming
@Mattock1987 It will be in the E3 direct. There was no reason to expect it in this direct.
Not just because i'm personally excited for specific games, just the fact that there's so much that people wanted is crazy! So a great direct for Nintendo fans and there were definitely a few things that excite me - ahem - PORTAL OMG. And it's the NVIDIA Lightspeed Studios port. They ported Portal and Half Life 2 to the Tegra Shield tablets. Half Life 2 on Switch could well be within the cards now, which is crazy.
This direct was incredible.
A standard Fire emblem in the same year as advanced wars and triangle strategy and frontier mission may have been a bit too much.
Overall, this direct was great and really makes me think the Switch was made just for me lol.
Super excited for:
Nintendo Switch sports
Live a live
Replaying Earthbound
Mario Strikers
Mario Kart DLC
Xenoblade 3
And was already looking forward to
Triangle Strategy
Kirby
Splatoon 3
Also, I've been reminded that I still need to finish Xenoblade 2.
@BTB20 I wasn’t just referring to BOTW2, any Zelda news would’ve been good, likes ports of older games
It was an ok direct. Only mind blown moment was xc3. FE warriors was cool, but not what I wanted if I'm being honest. Everything else was good but not great. Having said that, there's quite a few day one buys for me that got announced. 7/10 direct.
Might just be the greatest Direct of all time. I'm not exaggerating, I genuinely feel that way.
While Mario Strikers and Switch Sports looked really good, most things showed were either ports or remasters. If all you have is a Switch, then these probably we're a good announcement for you, but if you already have another console or a PC, then odds are you probably played these on their or you're not interested in them
Was very disappointing, best thing about it was new tracks for MK and Earthbound. No Goldeneye, no new Fire Emblem, no Odyssey 2, no DK game, no locked in release date for BOTW2, no MP or MP trilogy, no Zelda remasters.Worst direct in a long time!
One if not the best direct I’ve watched! So many good games to purchase and finally get the revival of Wii sports. Also love that FE Three houses won’t be dead and gone and will be resurrected in the Warriors game.
Great direct. Everything
The vast majority are insta-buys or at least of "heavy interest to me". So it has been a really good Direct for me personally.
Didn't like it, thought it was the worst yet and actually made me a little more nervous than happy.
Only game I was interested in was Xenoblade 3.
I was more hyped for Kirby before now, It looks ok and it might be a buy once it drops a little in price.
No Botw 2 which means it probably wont be out this year. This stinks because it was my most anticipated game. Not even a scrap of info.
No Bayonetta news either.
I am getting sick of remasters of old games on all systems. Some of it is laziness and some of it is not being able to come up with new ideas.
The system is starting to feel older to me now. Switch has been one of my favorite systems of all time but I play it less and less and saw nothing here to change that.
with supply constraints of the other two, the high price and the small trickle of games offered - this is the only place to be for me.
I got too hyped for Zelda news... my fault. It was ok, MK DLC is welcome, and I'm looking forward to Kirby and Splatoon... the rest was wait for a sale or Christmas type stuff.
Only bad thing in that Direct, watching Shinya and Yoshiaki play Volleyball 🤣
That was a really great Direct. I wasn’t expecting anything super huge this time around so I was nicely surprised. The mariokart DLC and Mario strikers especially look super cool. I’m also excited for Dread’s Boss Rush mode. And who would have guessed that Salmon Run would allow you to THROW the eggs? I had never thought about it in my life but it seems like a game-changer now
Kirbo, chrono, mk dlc and (probably in the minority here) SD gundam. Loved the gundam breaker series so I'll take any more action games from the series.
@eltomo lol yeah that was super awkward
One of the best Directs in ages.
Given how much the industry co to use to struggle with the after effects of Covid I was genuinely shocked to see so much stuff.
2022 looks like being an amazing year for the Switch.
It was an unbelievable Direct, and I do think barring a new big Mario or Zelda (which they are saving for the traditional E3 Direct, of course, always holiday titles) they had something for everyone here, and this was 95% games coming out by summer, meaning they got a lot more in store for us for the second half of the year.
Casual players? More than double the Mario Kart tracks, included in NSO+, reasonable price otherwise. Baby Mode for Metroid Dread. SWITCH SPORTS with great looking avatars for 2022 (let's be real, Miis look very outdated). NEW Mario Strikers with a huge focus on online play.
Hardcore players? Xenoblade Chronicles 3, evidently the highest budget JRPG Nintendo has ever developed. Looks just unreal. A new Fire Emblem Warriors game that looks miles better than the previous one. 3 absolutely fantastic deep cuts from Square Enix's back catalog, each of them with dozens of hours of content. Two of them remade from the ground up - I have no words!
They even showed the base NSO service some love with Earthbound and Mother. And even more value to NSO expansion pack of course with MK8D course pack.
And this is not even counting most of the 3rd party games they announced. I could see No Man's Sky and Portal being very successful on Switch, NMS in particular honestly looks great for a native Switch game, I thought it was a cloud version at first. Oh, and Klonoa 1&2 remakes? Just lovely stuff.
@eltomo OMG that was terrible. Wife was like they could have a little more enthusiasm.
@Mikmoomamimocki
Normally new classic games just get released on NES, Super NES and N64 apps in a regular announcement but the Earthbound games they did it specifically in a Direct. I wonder why they did that? Maybe they are building up fan interest to ensure the success of a localized Mother 3?
buy for sure
no man sky(if is a decent port)
kirby
front mission 1 and 2
porta collection
zombie army 4
That's like 10 to 15 releases (some including more than 1 game) that I actually want. And they didn't even mention many great titles I'm looking forward to in the second half of the year... And I still want games from years ago. But I first need to play through some games I already have bought on sale and used. Damn. I now realise once again how much money I used to spend on games... Now I buy forest land to protect it and live in it, and take care of rescue animals, an obviously much higher financial priority than collecting video games, but I could have easily wasted a ton more money in the past on just the Switch line up...
Zombie Army 4 though... Advance Wars... Kirby... Mario Strikers... So much good stuff.
I'll echo the sentiment that this is one of the best Directs yet! I can't remember the last one with this many huge surprises and exciting announcements. While there were a ton of great announcements, the big ones for me were Xenoblade 3, Chrono Cross: Radical Dreamers Edition, the Mario Kart 8 DLC, and the Portal collection. This year's packed with great releases!
After THIS PRESENTATION, Nintendo Switch just Outsold the ps4 and gameboy/gameboy color for sure!
@wishmylove whatever you say 😆 🤣
Fantastic direct and one of the few times that there were not so many cr@p titles..!
They showed a bunch of stuff I want:
Triangle Strategy
Front Mission games
Chrono Cross
Advance Wars
Live A Live
Kirby Klonoa
and Xenoblade Chronicles 3.
Looking even more forward to Kirby; I hope it's good.
Not necessarily games I need, but it's fun to see so many classic games come to Switch like Chrono cross, portal, wii sports.
I never played Klonoa; I'll definitely pick that up.
Sooo many Tactical games. Not my favorite genres personally.
I've never played a Xenoblade game but that video was really good so I am somewhat intrigued.
Mario Strikers was possibly the only sub-series of Mario still around I have zero interest in. I want an actual platformer! Bowsers Fury wasn't a full game and Mario-35 was ripped from us so really Mario Maker 2 (3 years ago) was the last full new Mario platformer and people argue whether it counts as a mainline Mario game or not. What I really want is the first true evolution of basic 2D Mario in 16 years since New Super Mario Brothers came out, but I would love any Mario platformer 2D or 3D
Undecided about Mario Kart 8 DLC. We've now basically been told MK9 won't be out on this hardware and won't be out before end of 2024 at a minimum. So at least we know. The DLC is out almost at the same time as Chocobo GP which makes me unsure which to get. The DLC being in Expansion pass is still not enough of a lure for me to want that service, but I guess it's nice for people who have it AND are planning to keep it consistently.
Fantastic Direct. They have their "Smash reveal" again with the Mario Kart DLC, which also adds value to the higher tier online service. The updates on Splatoon, Kirby and Advance Wars all add hype. RPG fans got two big interesting titles. A cool looking shadow drop. Mario Strikers may not be for everyone, but it is for me. And new Wii Sports is going to be absolutely massive. Not only fun, should end up on several bestseller lists by the end of year. Did I want to hear more about Batman? Sure! But I got surprises, updates, additions to my wish list and a new game for the library. I loved it.
I had mixed feelings about this direct. No Zelda, Bayonetta or Metroid 4. We did get some DLC for Metroid Dread but its just difficulty options and a boss rush. Mario Kart news but its DLC. Fire Emblem news but its Warriors game. More info on games we know about. More sports games. Ports Ports Ports.
Xenoblade Chronicles was the only true surprise. Even with that I have had a real hard time finishing all of those games because how convoluted and grindy they can be. I will probably end up getting it though. Even if it isn't Mario Kart 9, getting 48 tracks is great, though I hope they are interesting not just a lot of simple snes/gba/ mario tour tracks.
I am excited for Advance Wars and see they delayed the game to add voice acting, online/local multiplayer, undo button and map editor. All welcome additions!
Getting a meaty 3 chapter demo for Triangle Strategy is also very welcome for those on the fence like myself. I had a hard time liking Octopath traveler but loved Bravely Default 2. Love FE but hard time with FF tactics.
Yeap I was excited for Chrono Cross, Live-a-Live, the two Front Mission games, Advance Wars 1 & 2 remake, the Assassin's Creed Ezio Collection, Triangle Strategy demo, Cuphead DLC, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the free updates for Metroid Dread, the new remake tracks for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, that indie remake Konami game, Splatoon 3, Fire Emblem Warriors 3 Hopes, the Portal collection, the Klonoa collection, and Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
Totally makes up for the lack of Ryu Hayabusa and Crash Bandicoot coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Zelda Breath of the Wild 2, Bayonetta 3, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, Metal Slug Tactics, the House of the Dead remake, Panzer Dragon II remake, Sea of Stars, new Donkey Kong, Sonic Frontier, Sonic Origins Collection, Hollow Knight: Silksong, GoldenEye 007 remake, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Chocobo GP, Dragon Quest III HD 2D remake, Xenoblade Chronicles X port, Metroid Prime Trilogy HD, Wind Waker HD port, Twilight Princess HD port, Resident Evil Revelations 3, etc.
Really surprised to see how positive everyone is toward that Direct, as I felt it continued the trend of “just ok” Directs that we’ve had since 2020 (excluding the fantastic E3 Direct last year). I suppose part of the problem for me is that most of what I really liked about this Direct are the things I’ve already had preordered. Advance Wars, Kirby, and Triangle Strategy have all been preordered for a while for me. I expected to see them, but still… I was pretty lukewarm to anything else, really. I mean, sure the MK DLC is nice, but c’mon… ports, ports, musuo and some sports? It was fine, but I didn’t feel like there was a showstopper surprise. Maybe XBC3, but I’ll have to see more.
My favorite part was when they, once again, failed to mention anything about Silksong and my heart died just a little. Boy do I just love to wait for games!
Wish they'd just release a new Mario Kart. There's too many hackers on Mario Kart 8 nowadays.
I can’t believe the big fire emblem game is a stupid warriors game. I hate that they are giving koei tecmo all these ips and turn them into warriors games 🤦♀️. And it’s 3 houses at that. I think 3 houses is okay but not the best fire emblem game at all. It was way too long too. I did like the direct. Was disappointed about kingdom hearts still being cloud. Hopefully square saying they will consider a native port on switch if they get enough fan feedback is not empty words. But I won’t hold my breath. No Zelda news is a little disappointing but I understand that it will be saved for e3(hopefully). Front mission and live a live was a good surprise. Will likely get. Xenoblade chronicles 3 was my absolute favorite reveal. Love Xenoblade. Hopefully they include a Japanese voice option.
I thought this was one of the best directs in ages, but I can see why some people who aren’t into JRPGs might not have loved it.
There seems to be a lot of complaints about ports, but I think it’s amazing to see valve games on a Nintendo platform for example. Square is really bringing the heat to the switch as well a remake of front mission, 2d 3D of Alive Alive and dragon quest 3, project triangle Strategy ( ff tactics with a stupid name), Chroni cross remaster that looks like they put effort into it. Maybe we might see games like bahmut lagoon as well coming to the Switch.
The switch is reviving Nintendo IP that has laid dormant for decades like advanced wars and 2d Metroid, I think the outlook is bright.
Of course you will get the usual brigade of people who will complain about the lack of a new 3D Mario, Metroid or Zelda, but for a February direct having 4 new pretty big first party Ip announcement is amazing, this was light years ahead of some of Nintendo wii era e3 presentations haha.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes
Advance Wars
Mario Strikers
Front Mission
Chrono Chross
Kirby
Live A Live
Mario Kart DLC
Xenoblade Chronicles 3
and even Switch Sports potentially.
All of those games I could at the very least see myself buying, if not 100% buying.
This is so much in such a short time frame that I will probably not play some of those games just because I don't have the time for all of this.
For me this was maybe the best Direct ever, considering the amount of really interesting games.
I would have preferred a new Mario Kart game with original tracks based on other Nintendo franchises. They may as well start a Nintendo Kart series now Link and the Inklings are included
Honestly I might be excited for Two Point Campus the most. Cos Two Point Hospital was bloody brilliant. It was not only just as good as the original Theme Hospital, it was a far and large a lot better than it too. I only found out afterwards that it was made by the same people who had made the original Theme Hospital. So that explains a lot. It has the exact same kind of humour. All the whacky different illnesses. So yeah I can't wait to see what this university themed one will be like, presumably it'll have all sorts of crazy subjects for students to learn instead of illnesses. But yeah, everyone should go try two point hospital immediately, if they loved Theme Hospital back in the day. It's basically a better, modern version of theme hospital. Can't wait for this sequel though, I've never seen a game like this, this kind of sim city/building style game but with a University campus, so it's unique at least, it's got that going for it.
I am one of the few who were pretty indifferent about the whole thing. Some things I'm interested in, but nothing really wowed me. Kind of interested in No Mans Sky, as that game would be perfect as a handheld game, but I also have a Steam Deck on the horizon. So I'm less excited about it as I would be, but I'll still buy it. Wanna support the devs and encourage more devs to port to the Switch.
Of course, if it's a cloud version (and nothing I've seen says it is) then it's an instant nope from me.
As far as no mans sky, I wish we could transfer saves from PS4. I’d like to continue on the switch and not start over.
@Anti-Matter sounds like you want to play the DLC because it's DLC
@geiseldiesel
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC was interesting for me but I am not in hurry to buy the DLC as my focus currently is on hunting other machine games (PS3, PS4, 3DS, etc).
I was excited for a lot of the announcements but I can only see myself getting a few of these. Ultimately "a few" gets whittled down to one or none but this Direct might buck that trend. Chrono Cross, Triangle Strategy, Portal, Live a Live, Mario Kart DLC. Damn it.. lol
This Direct made me realize that even though it was fantastic, I'm an indie gamer. The whole time I was like "this is amazing, when are we getting to the indies?"
LiveALive. Man, this announcement genuinely took me back to being a teenager (and moaning how Squaresoft games never come to the UK hahaha.) Unbelievable! So much I want.
A great direct - Surely something for everyone. 2022 is a packed year for the Switch.
For me: Getsufumaden , the Mario Cart dlc and crono cross are all on my radar. The Mario Cart dlc has made me an upgrader to the more expensive online.
for me i give this direct a 9/10 it delivered alot of good games but the worst part which we all would agree is the cloud version of kingdom hearts games hope the sales bomb so square doesnt pull this crap ever again.
@johnvboy I'm pretty sure that they just announced that it has outsold the Wii... so, with the exception of the DS Family and the Gameboy Family, the switch is their best selling home console to date. What a fantastic Direct! I have been wanting Mario Strikers to come back from the dead and I am not disappointed!
I hope that most everyone found something fun in that Direct!
Im so excited to finally try Front Mission 1 and 2 (Played through #3 several times on PS1) and Live A Live finally coming west, and in the 2DHD style which I love. Chrono Cross will be fun to play again. Hoping these games get physical versions.
Xenoblade 3 is exciting, I finally played through #1 last year but have not started 2 yet.
Earthbound and the Switch will be nice, never did try beginnings on the Wii U, but I will for sure try it on switch.
Im excited for both Triangle Strategy and Kirby in March, and seeing more Kirby got me even more excited for it.
This was one of the best Directs I have seen, for me anyways.
Also Mario Kart DLC, I was a little bummed about it at first, but them adding it to the Expansion plus is a bonus since we ended up subbing to it at xmas time when we got our kids Switches. So they will be able to enjoy the DLC too.
@Unit_DTH,
Pretty sure the direct was a real crowd puller.
@Riku3456 There's nothing wrong with Fire Emblem becoming a Warrior game, in fact I believe Fire Emblem is perfect as a Warrior game and should had more games in that style.
@Sciqueen Yeah but then you'll have people asking for Nintendo Golf, Nintendo Tennis, Nintendo Striker, Nintendo Party, and Nintendo Maker. Not every Mario spinoff needs to be turn into a Nintendo crossover.
Awesome direct. So many games to look forward to, and cant wait to Get my hands on mk8 dlc! so many great tracks being revived 😃 I know people want mk9, but for me, this dlc is more than enough to keep MK fresh for a long time.
But our BOTW2....it gone.....
I feel like this was too port heavy. It's hard to get too excited about the ports, because there's really nothing new there except that it's now on NSW.
I did like Kirby's adorable mouthful mode, sports...which my family and extended family really enjoyed on the wii, and XenoBlade Chronicles 3.
On the MK8 DLC... I wish it was cheaper or released much earlier while I was still playing MK8. I'll probably buy this if it goes on sale.
Great direct as far as I'm concerned! Looking forward to playing all of these games.

I really wish we would get some news about the rumoured Donkey Kong game. It was 40 years ago last year when we first got Donkey Kong and sadly Nintendo done nothing for the anniversary. It is like Donkey Kong has been thrown on the backburner and is forgotten when it has long been one of Nintendo's most popular franchises.
For anyone who’s never played Klonoa before, now’s your chance. They are some of the best platform games ever. Up there with Mario World and Yoshi’s Island in my opinion. Great music, great level design, and a great double jump mechanic that uses enemies and some very inventive uses throughout both games.
This is just the best direct ever, XC 3 in september can't wait to play this.
When I saw the beginning of the trailer for Live A Live I really hoping it was a surprise Golden Sun Game.
@Specter_of-the_OLED that’s fine. That’s your opinion. My opinion is that there is too many of them and they are all the exact same to me. Same combat. Even same story where they add in a useless character from koei tecmo that’s a one off character. Fire emblem is better as it was originally in my opinion. Which is a strategy Rpg
With Switch sport and Strikers being half assed games this Direct wasn't that great in retro spec xD
