Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed is coming to the Switch later on this year. We don't know exactly when and we don't know exactly what it will look like, but we do know that it will have a physical Deluxe and Collector's Edition. So that's something.
Today, Outright Games has revealed a first look at these physical copies and, fortunately, they both look 'totally bodacious' (as four Renaissance artists once said).
We'll start by addressing the mutated rhino in the room: the Mutants Unleashed Collector's Edition is a pricy beast. The physical will set you back an eye-watering £219.99 / €249.99/ $199.99 — yes, you read that correctly. With a price tag like this, you'd expect some pretty tubular goodies to be bundled in with the game. And tubular goodies they are.
Alongside a physical copy of the game and a special box, the Collector's Edition includes a Pizza Van statue, a TMNT LED sign, five pin badges, four patches, a mouse mat, notebook and pen, an artbook, a poster and stickers (yay! Stickers!). This edition will also include access to the game's Season Pass, which is set to bring "more post-launch awesome content," whatever that will be.
Those after a physical copy of the game without quite as many bells and whistles can check out the Deluxe Edition for £54.99 / €59.99/ $59.99. This also includes the artbook and pins, but it bundles in four keychains and an exclusive steel book cover too.
While it's all well and good looking at the swanky physicals, we still know surprisingly little about Mutants Unleashed. The game is supposedly set right after the events of 2023's Mutant Mayhem film, with the heroes in a half-shell working to maintain strong mutant-human relations. Aside from that, we know that the 3D brawler/platformer will offer two-player local co-op and Outright Games expects to release it in Q4 2024.
We will be sure to update you as soon as we have pre-order information for either of the above physicals.
Will you be picking up either of the Mutants Unleashed physical editions? Let us know in the comments.

Dam that is such a cool collector edition. Its just too bad this version of Ninja Turtles is lame.
This is the first time Outright has ever done a Collector's, and I imagine it was mostly Paramount's idea.
I'll just grab the standard edition, pending it reviews well obviously.
When I think of Ninja Turtles, I think of them being shredded and having muscles bigger than the torsos of the turtles screen shot here.
The older I get, the more often I see a photo like that and think, "gah, that's a whole lot of cheap junk that's just going to be getting in the way in no time."
Heck no. $200? People do not preorder this so it gets clearanced down. I loved TMNT growing up but no way am I spending $200 on a collectors edition.
Shame on the publishers.
all this for a game made by a kids game shovelware dev omg
$200?? For a box filled with junk?
Madness...
That's a HUGE ask considering they haven't even dropped a trailer (or shown gameplay) yet 🤔.
I feel like the tag line should've been, "but who would shell out the money for that price?"
Actually, maybe that doesn't translate.
Is "shell out the money" only an American thing?
250 Euros?! That's totally not awesome, dude!
I think their currency calculator is broken. For the ability to buy in £, it costs nearly $80 more! Screw that. Even those buying in € are paying an extra $70. That’s just unfair, unless postage is included, but even then, that is bad. And it probably Isn’t included.
Are they mad? This looks dreadful. Where is the marketing on this? Where is the trailer? Talk about fleecing the consumer based on brand alone. Outright games was good a year ago as you and now you never hear of them and I can see why now with their terrible sales tactics. Don’t pre order.
I agree with everyone’s sentiment that $200 for a box filled with dollar store trinkets is insane. The art book is probably the only worthwhile item, assuming you like the art style to begin with.
What caught my eye though, is what they are calling the Deluxe edition is called the “Walmart Edition” on Walmarts website and has been listed for months. I preordered my copy back in March and it lists the same items as the Deluxe edition. Even more curiously it’s priced at $39.99 for all that stuff, steel book, art book, etc. It’s still at the $39.99 so grab it before they change it!

So, according to the Outright Games website...
The Deluxe Edition gets both a steelbook and keychains, and the massive and much more expensive Collector's Edition doesn't?
@Kiwi_Unlimited
1 - it's a play on the Turtles and how they used to substitute the word "Shell" for other words or part of other words. It was more prominent in the 80's cartoon. Though it was in the 1990 movie and the '03 cartoon.
2 - Flintstones used to use shells for currency.
3 - it was also around before the 80s, and yes, it's most likely an american thing.
Also, they lost some points for not calling it a Rat Pad as opposed to a Mouse Pad.
:/
And not one thing shaped like a tube. 2 out of 10, not tubular enough!
@Elitepatriot unfortunately the Mutant Mayhem continuity seems to be the new standard for TMNT. I personally didn’t like the movie much at all. I know it did very well so it clearly has its fans, but I didn’t like the art style, character designs, lack of individual personality between the turtles, or the story as a whole. I may try this eventually just because TMNT games usually tend to be good to great so I’ll give it a chance but not at full price. Lets just hope that the inevitable next incarnation of TMNT is better than this
Looks like the game is being made to push overpriced junk on people. They really shouldn't be showing all this stuff off before we've seen more of the game. It just doesn't sit right.
@Spider-Kev
Those are all fair points, thank you.
The last 3 or 4 incarnations of the TMNT do not exist to me. ^_^
It's pricey, it's also neat. It can be both things.
AHH, SHELL SHOCK
Hah!! This is the most wildly over-priced collectors edition I’ve ever seen!!
$200 dollars for key chains and stickers. Unbelievable.
$199.99 will slice any pizza in any shape or form.....cowabunga.....!!!
@Elitepatriot actually go ahead and watch it. I think this is one of the best turtle media in the last 20 years, and although I had low expectations I was blown away by how good it was. Even the kids they got to voice act were really good. Very good time to be a turtle fan
@Regulus6891 there’s a an entire figure inside and pvc figure prices have increased, there’s mark pins, badges, a poster , a hard cover book, a neon sign and a rubber mats AND the DLC season pass(with a bunch of stuff I didn’t mention ). These prices are fair when you realize what the retail price of all these would be alone
Too bad it’s based on the awful Mutant Mayhem. The animation was awesome but that was about it.
If this is based on the new movie, I'll have to pass. I made it about a half hour in and realized it wasn't my thing. The fact that the teenage part was so heavily focused on made me turn it off. Oh well I hope people did enjoy the movie
@ChessboardMan Yeah, I was like why is it more pounds than dollars?
@rvcolem1 you should have watched it until the end. This movie is awesome.
@Elitepatriot You know who I trust with what is and what is not lame? A guy named "Elitepatriot" with a texas cowboy hat adorning a dead meme.
...lol.
@LikelySatan says the Romans 1:26-27 man. How about you be more productive and tell me why you like this modern* take on Ninja Turtles?
@Nintendo4Sonic I am truly happy you enjoyed it, that's the cool thing about movies there is something for everyone. I unfortunately did not enjoy what I watched and didn't want to go forward with it. But dimension shell-shock and the new side scroller looks like fun.
@rvcolem1 yeah definitely. Opinions are so different with movies for sure.
But I really want to mention, that this movie gets better and better. The finale and how the whole story develops was so heartwarming. I really think you missed out something.
@Nintendo4Sonic well I work it for a school and have all summer may give it another shot
@Elitepatriot Oh a bibble thing. Definitely in touch with what's hot on the streets.
Anyway, cause my children do, it doesn't annoy me (sometimes that is the most a parent can hope for), and I feel that TMNT might be a little bit more skewed toward 5-12 year-olds than a 42 year old. Things get a little neckbeardy for me when we start dissecting cartoons aimed at children much further than that.
