I own an OLED model, so I don't know if the cooling system is different, but yeah, mine never really gets all that hot.

Currently Playing: Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance (PC) Coming Out on Top (PC)

I have the pre-OLED model myself just to be clear in regards to my previous statement, but yeah, my OG Switch got hotter at peak load than my Steam Deck does.

I played Horizon Forbidden West on my Steam Deck OLED 1TB recently and it runs great straight out of the box. I didn't need to do anything at all, I just started the game and away I went. The Kingdom Hearts games run well too. Kingdom Hearts 3 does require some tinkering however.

I have a steam deck that I use as a desktop computer. It works really well, and only gets hot when running halo: master cheif collection. I actually really like it. Really hope Nintendo has trackpads or something like this for switch 2.

I have a rocket league youtube channel and I really enjoy rocket league itself. If you wanna check out my youtube channel, it is PersianZSR@PersianZSR.

@PersianZSR Yeah the haptic trackpads are amazing. I was not able to imagine how useful and nice they feel before I got the thing in my hands, but they're incredible for so many games. Steam's input customization is also just an amazing piece of software; I can practically tailor my controls to work with any game, even if it was never designed with a controller in mind.

Makes me really question what I'm paying for when I boot up an NSO emulator and I can't even remap bindings per game, and then having to do it with profiles in the systems setting, and still don't even have anything but basic features. Steam meanwhile has the industry's best input customization for free. Steam isn't perfect, but it spoils me compared to every other offering out there.

@ZeldaFan83 Have you got the Erdtree expansion yet? Really great, albeit pretty difficult!
If you're looking for another modern game after ER, I highly recommend 'Lies of P' - a fantastic Soulslike from a first-time dev.... plays like a love-letter to all of FromSoftware's portfolio. Lies of P can get 60fps pretty well on deck, with amazing graphical fidelity. The game is awesome, and another miracle port for the deck... enjoy

Nah, not yet. I only buy games when they are on a sale since digital purchases are just rentals at this point.

ER is a game i have to take breaks from. It does get frustrating. But that sense of accomplishment is awesome.
